What did he put in her drink anyway? It was just booze. Frank Loesser used to perform it with his wife at parties, so I guess it was hardly meant to be creepy. You'll notice the "mouse" (as she is known in the original)'s only objections are what other people would think of her. The "wolf"'s arguments verge into the ridiculous "Think of my lifelong sorrow, if you got pneumonia and died". It's meant to be funny! I think they were both enjoying themselves mightily.
