Halloween: Sally's Song from a Nightmare Before Christmas

A modern Halloween classic I think from A Nightmare Before ChristmasHelena Bonham Carter's version is good, but here's the original: Sally was voiced by Catherine O'Hara who was also in Beetlejuice among others.

Am/C = 2003

                Em       Am      F
I sense there's something in the wind
                B7           Em
That feels like tragedy's at hand
    D           G                F
And though I'd like to stand by him
      B7 Em
Can't shake this feeling that I have
      D7      G     F
The worst is just around the bend.

F    Em   B7
And does he notice
   Am/C      F
My feelings for   him
   Em        B7     Am/C
And will he see    How  much he means to me
   B7         Em
I think it's not to be.
             Em     Am       F
What will become of my dear friend?
                B7           Em
Where will his actions lead us then?
    D           G                F
And though I'd like to join the crowd
   B7 Em
In their enthusiastic cloud
    D    G F
Try as I may it doesn't last

   Em   B7
And will we ever
Am/C      F
End up together
   Em        B7  Am/C
No, I think not, it's never to become
   B7         Em
For I am not the one

Lou Reed 1942-12013: Sweet Jane

D            A           G       Bm A      D        A          G       Bm A (Repeat)
Standing on the corner,             suitcase in my hand
Jack is in his coat, and Jane is her vest, and me
I'm in a rock'n'roll band  Hah!
Ridin' in a Stutz-Bearcat, Jim
Y'know, those were different times!
Oh, all the poets they studied rules of verse
And the ladies, they rolled their eyes
Sweet Jane!  Whoa!  Sweet Jane, oh-oh-a!  Sweet Jane!

I'll tell you something
Jack, he is a banker
And Jane, she is a clerk
Both of them save their monies, ha
And when, when they come home from work
Sittin' down by the fire, oh!
The radio does play
The classical music there, Jim
"The March of the Wooden Soldiers"
All you protest kids
You can hear Jack say, get ready, ah
Sweet Jane!  Come on baby! Sweet Jane! Oh-oh-a!  Sweet Jane!

Some people, they like to go out dancing
And other peoples, they have to work, Just watch me now!
And there's even some evil mothers
Well they're gonna tell you that everything is just dirt
Y'know that, women, never really faint
And that villains always blink their eyes, woo!
And that, y'know, children are the only ones who blush!
And that, life is just to die!
And, everyone who ever had a heart
They wouldn't turn around and break it
And anyone who ever played a part
Oh wouldn't turn around and hate it!

Sweet Jane!  Whoa-oh-oh!  Sweet Jane! Sweet Jane!
 D            G         D
Sweet Jane  Sweet Jane
Sweet Jane  Sweet Jane (repeat and fade)

Almost Halloween!

Thanks to Gotaukulele for this: http://www.gotaukulele.com/2012/11/werewolves-of-london-warren-zevon.html

[D]I saw a were [C]wolf with a Chinese [G]menu in his hand,
[D] Walking through the [C]streets of Soho in the [G]rain.
[D]He was [C]looking for the place called [G] Lee Ho Fook's,
Going to get a big dish of beef chow mein.

[D]Ahh [C]wooooo... [G]Werewolves of London,
[D]Ahh [C]wooooo! [G]
[D]Ahh[C]wooooo... [G]Werewolves of London,
[D]Ahh [C]wooooo! [G]

You hear him howling around your kitchen door,
You better not let him in.
Little old lady got mutilated late last night,
Werewolves of London again.

Ahhwooooo... Werewolves of London,
Ahwooooo!
Ahhwooooo... Werewolves of London,
Ahwooooo! Huh!

He's the hairy handed gent who ran amok in Kent,
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair.
You better stay away from him, He'll rip your lungs out, Jim,
Huh! I'd like to meet his tailor.
Ahhwooooo... Werewolves of London,
Ahwooooo!
Ahhwooooo... Werewolves of London,
Ahwooooo!

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen,
Doing the Werewolves of London.
I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen,
Doing the Werewolves of London.

I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's,
And his hair was perfect.
Ahhwooooo... Werewolves of London,
Huh! Draw blood!
Ahhwooooo... Werewolves of London...

What does the fox say?

Sigh, I guess this is the new Gangnam Style. The ukulele chords for What Does The Fox Say? Are actually quite simple. They are C#m, B and F#. OK, not so simple. You could play it in Am instead, then it would be: Am G D.

To transpose the whole song, use this site: http://www.transposechords.com/song_transposed

C#m              B                  F#
Dog goes woof, cat goes meow,
                                        C#m

Cow goes moo, frog goes croak,
                                   C#m
And the elephant goes toot.
                 B                  F#

Ain't we got fun?

Definitely the song of the jazz age, the roaring 20's and now our 10's and 20's too I think. It's referenced in The Great Gatsby and George Orwell wrote about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ain't_We_Got_Fun%3F

More recently, it was in the Ps3 game Bioshock Infinite. Yes, we talk about songs being used in games now. Mad huh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaKZKy9SJ1o

This is just my version, You cal get all the right chords on Musicnotes for about $1.95 too.
