Barbie Train

C G Am F Full chords on chordie.com or ukuleletabs.com

Just a small town girl, Living in a lonely world.
She took the midnight train going anywhere
My life is brilliant, my love is pure. I saw an angel, of this I'm sure.

I'm your biggest fan I follow you until you love me, papa-paparazzi
If I could, then I would. I'll go wherever you will go.
Forever young, I want to be Forever young
I can't live, with or without you.
She will be loved, she will be loved

MGMT Kids intro on Kazoo

I won't hesitate no more, no more, it cannot wait I'm yours.
Your lipstick stains, on the front lobe of my left side brains.
No woman no cry,
I come from a land down under
Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong,

And can you feel the love tonight?
I need some love like like I never needed love before, wanna make love to ya baby,
Take on me, take me on , I'll be gone in a day or two

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me
Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner.
I'm starting with the man in the mirror.

Whenever I fall, at your feet.
Nothing's right I'm torn. I'm all out of faith.
This is how I feel. I'm cold and I am shamed.
Lying naked on the floor.
Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated
It's too late to apologize, it's too late
Are you just going to stand there and watch me burn,
it's alright because I love the way it hurts
It's my life, it's now or never, I ain't gonna live forever
Can't read my, can't read my, no he can't read my poker face
Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot for the sake of old ang zine
(come on barbie) let's go party

Are You Lonesome tonight?

Today in 1977 the world awoke to the news that The King had died. It was a Wednesday and I remember seeing it in the newspaper and since I was only 6 didn't really know who Elvis was, but felt the impact enough to still remember it now that I am 42, the age he died.

So, how about a nice song he did, from 1927 Are you lonesome tonight? This was an oldie even when the King recorded in in 1960. The Carter Family (as in, daughter June Carter, married Johnny Cash) recorded a version in 1936. Different melody!

This is my favourite version. Elvis generally took the piss when he played this live :-)
C 2323 Dm 0101 G7

    C Em               Am
Are you lonesome tonight, do you miss me tonight?
    C   A7           Dm  A7 Dm
Are you sorry we drifted apart?
   G7                       F
Does your memory stray to a brighter sunny day
    Dm G7 C
When I kissed you and called you sweetheart?
             C7                                                   F
Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare?
 Cm        D7                              Dm     0101  G7
Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there?
            C       Em              C7     D7    Db7  D7
Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again?
            Dm                  G7                C    2323 G7
Tell me dear are you lonesome tonight.

(Talking verses, play the same chords)

I wonder if  you are lonesome tonight
You know someone said that the world is a stage
And you must play a part.
Fate had me playing in love with you as my sweet heart
Act one was when I met you, I loved you at first glance
You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue
Then came act 2, you seemed to change and you acted strange
And why I'll never know.
Honey, you were lying when you said you loved me
And I had no cause to doubt you.
But I'd rather go on hearing your lies
Than go on living without you.
Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there
With emptiness all around
And if you won't come back to me
Then make them bring the curtain down.

    (sing again)
   C                           Em                                D
Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again?
              Dm                   G7          C    G7
Tell me dear are you lonesome tonight.
